Hussain Sajwani had a humble beginning, born of a middle-class father in Dubai. He was the eldest of the five children in the family. People around knew greatness resided in him even at the tender age of 3 as he was always interested in giving his father a helping hand in a watch shop. He knew he had to polish his entrepreneurial skills, so he took his studies serious and eventually pick up a bachelor degree in Economics and Industrial Engineering from the prestigious University of Washington.

In no time, the company became a major force in the industry serving close to 200,000 meals daily and simultaneously executing hundreds of projects in countries across the Middle East, Africa and the CIS.
The big one came in 2002 when he birthed DAMAC Properties. The growth of DAMAC is simply phenomenal. It is now the largest property development company in the entire Middle East. People who know Hussain Sajwani are not surprise by this extraordinary growth rate because the leadership and entrepreneurial prowess of the owner are hard to come by.
Projects executed by DAMAC are known to command attention. They are all over major cities including Dhabi, Riyadh, London, Beirut, Doha, Amman, Dubai and Abu.

DAMAC in 2013 developed a number of Trump-branded golf courses. Trump could not hide his affection for Sajwani when he described him as a very amazing man after he was elected to the US presidency.
Some people may not know about Hussain Sajwani’s exploits in the business world, but they will always remember his philanthropic activities. Time and space will not permit us to mention all his philanthropic gestures as they are numerous. The recent one was the donation of AED two million to help clothe a million underprivileged children.
