Philip Belamant is an American-Israeli video game developer and journalist best known for his work on the Crysis series.

Philip Belamant is a former journalist and entrepreneur in the online gambling industry. He also owns a game development company, Liquid Games LLC.

Philip Belamant has been working with Crysis since 2004, when he was hired as studio lead on Crytek USA’s first externally developed title – a reboot of that series called “Crysis: Warhead.” Belamant continued to be involved as lead designer on other games in the franchise and assisted with creating future iterations of both franchises before taking over in 2009 from the original creator, David Jones, who left to found his independent studio called Just Cause 3 developer Avalanche Studios.

Before working at Crytek, Belamant formed his own video game development company – Liquid Games LLC. He was a consultant on the Crystal Dynamics-developed “Deus Ex: Human Revolution” for Eidos Montreal before joining Crytek in 2004.

In 2013, Belamant left Crytek and partnered with web game developer and publisher Meteor Entertainment to launch the mobile RPG “Chronicles of Elyria.” The project was canceled in December 2015 but has since been revived as a community-driven project.

Belamant is a member of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, Writers Guild of America, and the International Game Developers Association. He attended film school at UCLA and graduated with a major in English.

Philip Belamant is also the creator of the #1 Free App on iTunes, Echo of Soul.

In 2016, he wrote a book called “The Handbook to Creating a Video Game Studio.” Belamant is also working on a TV show called “The Rising Gods” with well-known actor Christopher Judge. Phil has also partnered up with several former colleagues from Crytek and others to launch the online gaming platform Astral Authority. Phil and his team are working on several new game titles that are set to be released in 2016.
