Eric Lefkofsky is an entrepreneur, and author, that assisted in founding several successful ventures including Tempus. However, he is much more than just the ventures he had a hand in founding. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he went on to attend the University of Michigan Law School, and receive his Juris Doctor. He then began his entrepreneurial ventures with a Brandon Apparel, a clothing company, in Wisconsin.
Although he has been involved in many ventures, the company that may be most recognizable to the general public is Groupon.Eric’s contributions don’t end in the business realm, he exhibits a charitable trust as well. With his wife, he created the Lefkofsky Foundation. Lefkofsky Foundation is a charitable trust which focuses on children. The foundation has helped fund more than 50 organizations. Lefkofsky and his wife also joined The Giving Pledge, a campaign that urges affluent people to contribute most of their wealth to humanitarian causes.
Eric Lefkofsky plays an active role in his working community by being on the board of directors of several institutes. He is on the board of directors at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is also on the board of directors of The Art Institute of Chicago. Not to forget, the board of directors of The Museum of Science and Industry, and a board member of World Business Chicago. He serves as co-chairman of its Technology Council. Lefkofsky is also a trustee of Steppenwolf Theatre Company.It’s easy to say that Eric Lefkofsky is a busy man!
