Aspire to Inspire

Yubo, a well-liked live social discovery app for Gen Z users, recently participated in the 20th annual Safer Internet Day on February 7, 2023. The purpose of the event was to draw attention to online safety initiatives. To help young users stay safe online, Yubo worked with two reputable NGOs, Childnet and Respect Zone.

Yubo expanded its in-app campaigns throughout February to offer resources to English- and French-speaking users in the US, France, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. Users were advised to share personal experiences on open online platforms and best practices for online safety. Younger users between the ages of 13 and 18 were also invited to take Childnet’s online safety quiz, which provided examples of actual online harassment and guidance on how to deal with these potentially harmful circumstances.

Sacha Lazimi, co-founder and CEO of Yubo, emphasized the app’s dedication to giving young users a secure and supportive online community. Lazimi also praised the ongoing cooperation between Yubo’s NGO partners.

Two European online safety networks, INHOPE and Insafe, annually collaborate to host Safer Internet Day worldwide. The event brings together stakeholders from the private sector, the government, and NGOs to promote responsible online behavior and exchange safety resources and practical advice. Activities for Safer Internet Day are advantageous for kids, their parents, and the educational sector.

A UK-based charity called Childnet spearheaded the initiative to create Safer Internet Day and works to protect children online. Founded in France, Respect Zone is an NGO that supports young people who experience cyberbullying, cyber violence, and online hate while also working to stop these behaviors.

To sum up, Yubo’s participation in Safer Internet Day 2023 and collaboration with reputable NGOs Childnet and Respect Zone demonstrate the app’s dedication to promoting online safety and giving young users the tools they need to stay safe and thrive in a positive online community.
