Bernard Acoca is the Chief Executive Officer of the Zaxby’s. Bernard has been in restaurant management for more than thirty years and managed several large franchises. He joined Zaxby’s Chicken in January 2015, where he is now a franchisee.
With over 30 years of experience and involvement in restaurant management, Bernard’s professional achievements are not limited to his decades with Zaxby’s. His work in the restaurant management industry includes leading several other successful franchises, including Rusty Bucket, The Burger Station and Anderson’s.
Bernard’s first experience in franchising came when he first became interested in owning his own business. He was a partner in two different franchises while earning his MBA at University of Phoenix.
Acoca is a native of Atlanta and currently resides downstate in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with his wife of 24 years, Dawn. They have two daughters, Samantha and Ashley.
Bernard Acoca is active in his community. He has been a member of the Siloam Springs School Board since 1999 and currently serves as board president. He also sits on the Arkansas Regional Food Bank Board, the Mid-Arkansas Area Chamber of Commerce, The Arkansas Restaurant Association and the Board of Directors for Fastway Logistics, Inc., among other organizations.
Acoca’s goal is to help Zaxby’s better itself in order to improve customer experience. He wants to see Zaxby’s expand as they are currently only a seven-store chain and plan on expanding to over 100 stores by 2025. He believes that if Zaxby’s were to do this they would be able to offer better products and services.
The Zaxby’s CEO regards himself as an advocate for the restaurant industry. He serves on numerous industry boards and associations, such as the Restaurant Association of Arkansas, the Food Truck Association of America, the Mid-Arkansas Area Chamber of Commerce and The Arkansas Restaurant Association. Acoca also serves as an annual dinner honoree for the Restaurant Association of Arkansas.
